About Bardstown, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Nelson County, KY, Bardstown is the county seat and home to about 11,700 people. It was named after the Bard brothers who moved into the area in the 1780s and originally chartered the community as Baird’s Town. The Bardstown Historic District comprises the city center, and featured architecture includes the Old Talbott Tavern, Spalding Hall, and Cobblestone Path. This city is located 26 miles east of Elizabethtown, 40 miles southeast of Louisville, and 60 miles southwest of Lexington.

There are a variety of interesting things to see or do when visiting Bardstown. There are several notable museums located in the community, including the Civil War Museum and the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey. Art fans can check out Artist’s Barrel, At Mary’s Art and Antiques, and Bardstown Art Gallery. Golf enthusiasts might enjoy an afternoon at the Bardstown Country Club at Mayood or the Bardstown Country Club at Woodlawn Springs, while bourbon lovers might prefer a visit to the Barton 1792 Distillery. Additionally, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival is held here each year, and it features more than 30 events to celebrate the art and history of distilling bourbon whiskey.

Bardstown is known for its humid subtropical climate consisting of hot and humid summers. While average high temperatures in July reach the mid-80s, there are many days in which conditions will be even hotter. When temperatures hit the 90s, Bardstown residents will likely have their air conditioners cranked up, and they’ll also have their local HVAC repair technician on speed dial in case of a problem.

Climate controls are also crucial at other times during the year – but for different reasons. Winters are mild to cool, and although temperatures tend to be warmer here than other parts of the country, average lows will still fall to the 20s overnight in January. Residents will invest in furnace systems or heat pumps in order to keep their homes warm throughout these months.
