Samuels, Kentucky is located in northwestern Nelson County along KY 245. This community was settled in the early 1800s, and in 1860 the post office that was formerly found in Deatsville moved to Samuels. This community was then renamed Samuels Depot and served as a stop on the Louisville and Bardstown Railroad. The name was shortened to Samuels in 1894, and the post office closed soon after. Samuels is located near other small Nelson County communities, including Nazareth and Deatsville.

As a small, unincorporated community in Nelson County, there are few attractions located in Samuels. There are several churches located in neighboring communities, including the St. Gregory Catholic Church located just south in Coxs Creek. Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy living in this part of Kentucky, as destinations like My Old Kentucky Home state Park, White Acres Campground, and Knobs State Forest are all located within a short driving distance to Samuels.
