About Chaplin, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Chaplin is a town located in northeastern Nelson County, Kentucky. As of 2010, approximately 420 people called the community home. Chaplin is found on US Highway 62 close to the Chaplin River. It is named from Captain Abraham Chapline, who was an early explorer to the area. There is a post office found in this town, and it opened back in 1832. Chaplin is also located near other small, Nelson County communities of Nazareth, Coxs Creek, and Bloomfield.

Chaplin is a small community and is not home to any major attractions. There are several churches found here, including the Chaplin Christian Church and the Chaplin Baptist Church. There are a variety of other attractions located in the area, including outdoor recreational areas like Lincoln Homestead State Park in Springfield and My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. The Hahn Ridge Trap Club is also located in nearby Bloomfield.

The Chaplin area will experience four distinctive seasons throughout the year. During the summer, conditions can become hot and humid. While average high temperatures in July reach the upper-80s, there are many days in which thermostat readings will jump to 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat-related illnesses are extremely common during these times, especially for special populations like the elderly and people living with chronic medical conditions. An energy efficient air conditioning unit will help to keep all Chaplin area residents safe.

Once the summer heat burns off, it is recommended that residents contact an HVAC repair technician to have their home heating systems checked out. During the winter months, thermostat readings will plummet, and while high daytime temperatures may stay in the low-40s, overnight lows fall below the freezing point. Residents who fail to have their heat pump or furnace serviced regularly could find themselves in a dangerous and expensive position if their system doesn’t work when needed.
